You can totally do it and feel free to touch base if you need any help or support!Stephaniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03747206018423099566noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5838414560852244752.post-71407806583887712422011-03-23T12:41:41.344-07:002011-03-23T12:41:41.344-07:00Your SP Buddy TJ here. I love that site and was frightened of committing to her 100%.

I am doing Paleo for March and considering keeping it going afterward. I have not been 100% because I love my wine, but I have cut it down to just weekends. I have also splurged on salad dressings, but only organic - Annie's and Organicville.

I have had some HUGE sugar and bread cravings. I have not slipped, but have really overcompensated with dried fruit. I made some paleo brownies last night and almost made myself sick.tjbleekerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13569156062707586076noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5838414560852244752.post-43984976324891482352011-03-02T08:43:45.902-07:002011-03-02T08:43:45.902-07:00Yay Angie! I love the hijacking comment!! You'...Yay Angie! I love the hijacking comment!! You've got a lot going on too, and love that you're sharing it!! If we can't voice our worries, they just overtake us.

I hear ya on the cravings. *my* take on it: The first week is usually ok because your body/brain don't think you're really going to continue with it. The second week it wakes up and says "Heeeeyyyy, you were serious! We need to stop this right now!"

For me what worked was having more whole and dried fruit - raisins usually don't have anything extra added to them so they're 'safe' in moderation (the key) but do give your body a boost of quick sugar.

For veggies - 2 thoughts: 1) there are people who argue we don't need any veggies. My body says to them, "F U". I feel best with a good portion of fat and protein, but feel lousy w/o veggies. 2) If you want to incorporate them, stick with what you do like right now (if there are any ;) Like salad - that's an easy way to get in the goodness of veggies and use it as a base for your meal literally. Throw the meat on top of the salad and go to town.

Or get bags of stir fry veggies in the freezer section for an easy side dish.

One thing I love to do is do a big batch sautee of onions, peppers, mushrooms and (if I have 'em) zucchini to have on hand for a side or to add to salad.

And don't be afraid to look for other ways to prepare veggies beyond steaming. Roasting is an awesome way to bring out the flavors!

Drop me an email if you want any hints or suggestions!!Stephaniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03747206018423099566noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5838414560852244752.post-72928750530436944852011-03-01T20:42:04.790-07:002011-03-01T20:42:04.790-07:00I'm just starting week 3 of a 6-week Paleo Cha...I'm just starting week 3 of a 6-week Paleo Challenge, and I'm having huge struggles with cravings. The first week was easy-breezy and I had no problems. The second week was pretty rocky. I'm craving things that I don't even normally eat! What is up with that!?!?! One of the things I am desperately wanting is a cupcake. I don't even know where it came from, but cupcakes have been dancing around in my brain for a week now. GO AWAY, CUPCAKES!

One of my addictions that I quit cold turkey was White Cheddar CheezIts. I would have a small handful each night while I read/did homework/whatever. That was my body's signal that it was almost time for bed. I haven't had those since the challenge began and I want them soooo bad. I want the crunch feel and I want the salt taste. But this shall pass.

Another issue I'm having (oh yeah, I'm writing my own blog here in the comments, girlfriend) is veggies. Veggies scare me. I don't like veggies. I don't like the taste, the texture, the feel, etc. Do not want! And I'm scared to try new ones! I want to, but I'm afraid of A) wasting money, and B) not knowing what to do with it/how to prepare it. I look up recipes constantly, and then chicken out.

Ok, enough about me. You are ROCKING this and I'm so proud of you! Change is not easy, be it temporary or permanent, but you make it sound so simple. You are going to make it to the end and then some!angiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05465239047489930043noreply@blogger.com
